Spring Start-Up
It is best to turn your sprinkler system on when the ground is no longer frozen and the temperature is 55° or warmer for a week straight. Typically, this is mid to late April in New Jersey
Service Include:
- Turn on main water supply to pressurize system
- Program controller
- Cycle through each zone to make sure valves are opening and closing
- Inspect all sprinkler heads
- Inspect rain sensor
- Look for any additional problems, anything from a broken PVB or major leaks
- If you are looking to start your system on your own please follow these instructions
Midsummer Check-Up
Your sprinkler system runs constantly during the hot summer months keeping your lawn lush and your plants healthy. It never stops working for you and this is why it’s important to give your system a midsummer checkup. The zone’s run time may need to be adjusted to meet watering needs on hot days. Sprinkler heads can wear out overtime and may need to be replaced or even repositioned to get water in the right places.
Service Includes:
- Evaluate controller programing
- Cycle through each zone to make sure valves are opening and closing
- Inspect all sprinkler heads
- Inspect Rain Sensor
- Look for any additional problems
Winterization
Your sprinkler systems will need to be winterized (blown out) at the end of the season. You do not want to wait to have this done, if the temperature drops below freezing for just one night some system parts can be damaged and will need to be repaired or replaced. In New Jersey, it is best to have your system blown out no later than the second week of November.
Service Includes:
- Turn off the main water supply
- Introduce compressed air into the system to remove all the water from the main and lateral lines
- Deactivate the controller
- Inspect all sprinkler heads
- Inspect rain sensor
- Look for any additional problems or concerns
